Hello Keatsway Parents,

Keatsway’s School Council meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday November 25, from 6:30 – 8:00 in the Keatsway library.

Hari Ghimire, Keatsway’s School Settlement Worker from the YMCA Immigrant Services, will present information on services and assistance available for Keatsway families.  The primary focus of the school-based settlement service is to “assist parents and their children with settlement needs through a systematic outreach to all new arrivals, needs assessment and action planning, orientation and information on school and community, referrals and assistance to access other community services.”  Mr. Ghimire’s presentation will be at the beginning of our meeting, at 6:30.

Principal Lori Briscoe will present school highlights from each classroom as well as, updates on clubs and activities.  In addition, there will be updates on upcoming School Council sponsored events.  Finally, there is an opportunity for parents to ask questions and share school experiences during the “What’s on Your Mind” segment of the meeting.

This month the WRDSB is providing Somali translation for our meeting, at the request of parents at our last meeting.  Please let Mrs. Briscoe know if you would like language translation for future meetings.

We hope to see at this informative meeting.  Babysitting is provided every month at School Council Meetings.  Everyone is welcome.

Please contact Patricia Shaw, at KeatswaySchoolCouncil@gmail.com or 519-888-6491 or Principal Lori Briscoe if you have any questions about the meeting.
