The Keatsway School Council maintains an email list for publishing council news, announcing volunteer opportunities, and distributing other relevant information. School Council’s purpose is to improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents. The council meets regularly during the school year to receive updates from the school and organize projects and events. Past council projects have included planning the yearly science fair, building the new playground and running/organizing the Chocolate Bar Fundraiser, the Winter Marketplace, Cookie Day, Math Night and Pasta night dinner. Council volunteers also help with the Nutrition for Learning program and many other projects around the school.

A STEAM fair involves science, technology, engineering, art and math, but students do not need to limit their project to one of these fields. Students are encouraged to explore their project of interest by integrating skills from a number of fields and building connections between them.

Participating in this event is a great opportunity for students to learn more about a topic of interest, to develop a curiosity about our world, to foster creative and critical thinking skills, to make connections between subjects, and to share their discoveries with their families and the school community.

All students from JK-Grade 6 are welcome to participate. This is a non-competitive STEAM Fair. All participating students will receive recognition of their work.
