News for May 2018

Hello Keatsway Families!

Principal’s Message

Thank you for all of our families that came out to our Musical.  All the cast and choir members did a fantastic job. A big thank you to our teachers and parent volunteers for all their hard work.  Way to go Keatsway! There are only 2 short months of the 2017/18 school year ahead of us. It’s hard to believe how quickly this year is flying by.  We will be working hard here over at Keatsway for the next little while. We hope to see you all on Thursday May 31st for our Open House!

School Council Update

Nutrition For Learning

Are you available for a couple hours each week and interested in volunteering at Keatsway? Volunteers are needed to help with the snack program for the remainder of this year, as well as next year. Help is needed following drop off each morning and for clean up in the afternoon. Whether you can volunteer for one hour, or five hours, we will find a job for you! If you are interested, please contact Wendy at

Pizza Mondays (plus May 22nd)

Our Pizza Mondays continue for the months of May & June. Students in grades 1-6 may bring $2.00 each Monday morning and purchase a slice of pizza during first break (cheese, pepperoni, and green pepper are available). Tuesday May 22nd will be a special Tuesday pizza day (as the Monday is a holiday).

A New Playground at Keatsway!!

This month could not be more exciting at Keatsway. Beginning Monday May 14th, our primary playground (the blue & orange one) will be removed and the ground will be prepared for our new playground. The new playground & challenge circuit will be installed beginning on….Tuesday May 22nd!! The installation will take approximately 3.5 days. If the weather cooperates and everything stays on schedule, the wood fibre ground cover will be blown in on Monday May 28th. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality!!

Ribbon Cutting & 40th Anniversary

This school year marks the 40th anniversary of Keatsway. To commemorate this occasion and break in our new playground, we have planned a fun, community night for Thursday May 31st. Everyone is invited to join us from 4:30-7:00 pm at the school for an evening of celebrating! Join us for food trucks, outdoor games, memory lane, learn to play GaGa Ball, cookie decorating, and more. Please free feel to invite past, current & future Keatsway students and families, former staff, as well as friends, neighbours, playground supporters and anyone else who would like to celebrate with us!
