June 28, 2016

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow marks the end of our school year, as staff and students celebrate the learning, achievements and friendships that have grown over the past ten months. June always brings many changes…exciting transitions and fond farewells. We congratulate our wonderful grade six students and say farewell to them as they move on to grade 7 at various senior schools. I wish them all a “growth mindset” so that they can have a much richer and more fulfilling life, all while improving their abilities and chances of success. We will miss their leadership and look forward to hearing about how they will help make a difference in the world.

We say a fond farewell to many cherished educators, who are embarking on new opportunities for the fall. Ms. Lepold, Mrs. Zamin, Mlle Deleplanque, and Mlle Pointon are off to new schools to share their love of teaching with new communities. Miss K (Kulchecki), Miss Fast and Miss Jewson are looking forward to applying to positions that come up within our Board. Mlle Blakely is moving closer to home to Windsor to teach French. I would like to thank them for their commitment and dedication to the students at Keatsway and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

After 29 years, Mr. Logel is retiring. Mr. Logel will be remembered not only as a great custodian but as a great man. He is known for his kindness, empathy, hard work and dedication. He has made a difference with so many students over the years. Mr. Logel often went above and beyond his duties. Because of the commitment and pride he took in Keatsway School, treating it like his own home, our school has been kept in excellent shape. Mr. Logel has been an icon at Keatsway and he will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best with his retirement.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the Keatsway parents who took on the roles of the School Council Executive and Committee Chairs for the 2015-2016 school year.
