The first School Council meeting is on Wednesday, September 28.  We will start with an informal gathering, where parents and staff can get to know each other while enjoying some coffee and snacks. Parents are welcome to arrive anytime between 6:30 and 7:00, and then at 7:00 the meeting will begin.  We’ll start by listening to the principal and vice-principal tell us about what is happening throughout the school.  Then our teacher representative will talk about clubs and activities happening at the school.  After these presentations we will move on to the parent members of school council. We’ll talk about the fundraisers starting this week, as well as some planned for the future.  At the end of the meeting we will be looking for people to take on leadership roles for council, as well as signing up for the many committees that make up council.  The full agenda is attached to this post.

To help all families attend council meetings, free babysitting is provided.

If you would like to be a part of the school council but can’t come to the meetings, that’s okay too.  If you send an email to keatswayschoolcouncil@gmail.com we can add you to the school council mailing list and make sure you are kept up-to-date with the minutes from the meetings and let you know about various opportunities to be involved in the school as they arise.  (This information will also be posted on the school website.)  And anyone can feel free to contact this email with a concern that they would like brought to the council’s attention, whether you are on the mailing list or not.

Hope to see you on Wednesday!
